"So the myth in our society is that people are competitive by nature and that they’re individualistic and that they’re selfish.
The real reality is quite opposite. We have certain human needs. The only way you can talk about human nature concretely is by recognizing that there are certain human needs.
We have certain human need for campanionship, for close contact , to be loved , to be attached , to be seen , to be received as who we are.
If those need are met, we develop into people who compassionate and cooperative and who have empathy for other people.
So … the opposite , which we often see in society is , in fact , a distortion of human nature precisely because so few people have their needs met."

"The greatest fortune that can befall an author is not to be read, a painter not to be seen, or to be seen with haste, like on those horrendous group museum tours: as long as the work is talked about, obviously. Or, if they see you, if they read you, you’re fortunate to be misunderstood. If they understand you, no one will think you’re right; if they don’t understand you, everyone will project onto you their inchoate desires, their secret dreams. And your success is assured."

— Paul Klee, explaining to a writer the benefits of not being read, from Giovanni Orelli’s Walaschek’s Dream (trans. by Jamie Richards). (via writersnoonereads)

” They don’t own me .I’m more than just a piece of their game.If i’m gonna die , i wanna still be me ” .

When the Capitol decided to raise the hope among civil and tributes by letting out the rule allowing 2 tribute from the same district can win along together. Then they decided to break that rule

Peeta : they must have a winner.

Katniss : No they don’t.

and they intended to die together.

So someway. somehow, they prove that no one can own them and they can not be controlled , even if they have to do it in the hardest way .That’s the part i love the best.

I always admire people who’s courageous and dare to even start a rebellion to be themselves.

"This is probably going to get quoted in every publication just because I said it. And I’m not even saying anything. I’m not talking about my films, I’m not talking about my life, and I’m not talking about the world. And yet, the media will print it simply because I said it. And at this moment in time, I bet there is an artist around the corner of this hotel, on the street, with a mind far beyond ours, but we will never listen to him simply because he has not appeared in a movie. And that is what is fucked up about our culture."

Robert Downey Jr. (via quote-book)
